About Liberty Hill Outfitters
Liberty Hill Outfitters is a family-owned and operated premier upland hunting destination located just five miles north of Rector, Arkansas. Founded by Stephen Crancer and co-owned by his daughter, Marla, Liberty Hill Outfitters sits on more than 900 acres of family land with roots dating back to 1948, when the property was acquired by Stephen’s grandfather, the late Jewel Marlar.
At Liberty Hill Outfitters, we offer memorable hunting experiences for individuals, families, friends, and corporate groups. Our guided hunts include quail, chukar, and pheasant, along with our popular European-style tower hunts. With experienced guides, highly trained bird dogs, and diverse hunting grounds, our goal is to provide every guest with an exceptional day in the field and true Arkansas hospitality.
For guests looking to make a weekend of their hunt, we offer two comfortable lodging options on the property. Our newly renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom lodge is located near our cook house and four stocked ponds featuring bass, catfish, bream, and crappie.
The Lodge at Lake Elise offers an additional retreat with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, surrounded by beautiful ponds and peaceful countryside. It’s an ideal setting for hunting groups, families, corporate retreats, or anyone looking to relax and enjoy the outdoors after a day in the field.

Meet Our Guides
Stephen Crancer, a successful business man and avid outdoorsman is the co-owner and founder of Liberty Hill Outfitters as well as the owner of White & Associates Crancer Agency in Rector, AR. He has been married to his wife Michelle, a retired speech pathologist, for 38 years. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Hayden, the oldest is a loan officer in Little Rock Arkansas. The youngest of the children, Landen, Marla, and Grayson are triplets. Landen works at Arkansas State University Systems as the Assistant Vice President, Finance & Operations. Marla is the co-owner of Liberty Hill Outfitters as well as a licensed insurance agent. Grayson is the Outpatient Nurse Manager for Piggott Community Hospital and is married to Jake Scott, a licensed electrician. In his spare time you can guarantee he is spending time with his granddaughters Lola and Hallie. Stephen turned his passion for family and hunting birds into Liberty Hill Outfitters, a guide service that has been bringing together families and the love of outdoors for over 20 years.

Marla Crancer is the co-owner of Liberty Hill outfitters as well as a licensed insurance agent for White & Associates Crancer agency out of Rector, Ar. She graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. Marla has been guiding alongside her dog Bruno, a German shorthaired pointer for over 8 years. She loves hunting, fishing and all aspects of the outdoors. She is a Board Member for the Sandy Ridge Quail Forever Chapter that focuses on the preservation of native quail and their habitat. In the recent years Marla has been working hard to expand Liberty Hill Outfitters which now includes lodging, skeet shooting, fishing, and an event center in honor of her grandmother the late Sue Marlar Gamble.

Matt Gardner, a Kansas native, is a licensed carpenter, animal lover, and God fearing man. He has been guiding at Liberty Hill Outfitters alongside his dogs for over 9 years. He is married to his wife Kissa of 24 years, and they have two daughters Madison and Kiersten. Matt is truly a jack of all trades and a crucial part of the foundation and success at Liberty Hill Outfitters.

Beau Wicker has been guiding at Liberty Hill Outfitters for 6 years he is also the owner of Wicker Lawn Care and Landscaping. Beau and his wife Tarryn, a registered nurse supervisor have a year old daughter, Dallas Kate and a 1 year old son Dawson Brooks. Beau along with his good friend, Danny Moore, have been working hard to develop the habitat of liberty hill outfitters which now offers deer hunting packages for all ages. Beau loves sharing in the outdoors with his family. You can frequently find Beau, Tarryn, Dallas, and Dawson out at Liberty Hill Outfitters enjoying all it has to offer.

William Harris, owner of Ridgeland Construction, has been an outdoorsman all of his life. He was formerly a Fishing and wild Quail hunting guide out of Texas and has been guiding alongside his 2 dogs at Liberty Hill Outfitters for the last year. William and his wife Natalie have three sons.

Brad Green, the Assistant Superintendent for the Rector Water Department and famous for his cooking, has always had a strong passion for the outdoors no matter what that consists of. He enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors with his son Kasen and his daughter Libby, who also guides at Liberty Hill Outfitters. Brad has guided at Liberty Hill Outfitters for 4 years and now will be guiding with his GSP, Prada.
Libby Green is attending Black River Technical College studying for her agricultural business degree and also working for White & Associates Crancer Agency. Libby has been guiding at Liberty Hill Outfitters for 4 years and now will be guiding alongside her Brittany Spaniel, Ruger. She is an avid hunter and has spent her whole life in the outdoors hunting and fishing with her Dad and Grandpa.
